We software vendors struggle daily with pricing modes, one of my favourite concepts is the?‚? Pay-Per-Time function which is possible with a high quality provisioning system.
Using a feature such as pay per time we’re able to limit the time which the application or a specific feature can be used by the end user.?‚? Settings can be applied in advance per time quota or per actual usage.
In-house application development organizations provide highly-customized, mission-critical software for enterprises the world over. Independent Software Vendors as well as in-house application development teams are in need of protection and control for their products ?¢?‚¬?€? especially as they become more service-oriented, playing a more central role in overall enterprise business.
Dynamic Software licensing allows for not only protection, but also complete control over the software.
Companies are buying more licenses than they need:
These days, PC licensing and application provisioning is highly inefficient. This leads to companies buying a far greater number of licenses than they actually need. Because many organizations fail to automate license management they in fact also risk license violation even when they aren’t using the number of licenses that they have purchased legally.
There is a possibility for most companies, large and small to resolve these issues and considerably reduce costs at the same time, by using dynamic license management.
Internal asset management for the Enterprise – The software vendor can control the way its software is distributed within the enterprise (by means of users, domains etc) using a dedicated license server.
What Pure inventory software does is to?‚? maintains an accurate stock control of the software installed on each PC in any given business arena.
A great advantage of this type of software provisioning is that companies using it can offer secure compliance with all licensing protocols because they receive a record of every and exactly what software is installed on each and every PC.
Ideally we would see an analysis of its usage, and so organizations pay license fees for only software that is used and in the exact manner in which its used or ordered.?‚? ?‚? The challenge today is to formulate a method for organizations to only pay the features / functions that are necessary.
Software developers can choose between alternative activation settings for software usage. Some Licenses can be installed by email, by web and even by phone. Channel networks are offered a subordinate portal to the vendors in order to activate and manage their local licenses.
