Microsoft and Hoya Corporation, the owners of the Pentax brand, have signed a patent cross-licensing agreement. The deal includes Pentax digital cameras and other products made by both companies. A Microsoft executive commented that such agreements lead to technological innovations for the benefit of the consumer and the IT industry.
The agreement represents an example of Microsoft?¢?‚¬?„¢s Licensing program, in which companies cane gain access to Microsoft?¢?‚¬?„¢s intellectual property portfolio.
